Indigo hotel brooklyn8/24/2023 It is a good alternative to pricey Manhattan yet very accessible to all parts of NYC with numerous subway lines all around. There are new hotels galore and almost every chain is now represented in this compact area. This is all part of the gentrification of downtown Brooklyn. There is a lot of construction going on all around including next to the hotel. Not many guests would even complain about thiss or include it in the review. I am tall but not an overly big person but even an average sized person would find it difficult to sit comfortably. It is impossible to sit on them either in the squatting position or the Western position without spilling stuff around or running a serious risk of catching UTI. The bathrooms are compact but very functional, except for the toilet bowls. I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Financial Center in Manhattan and now here. However, the iHG chain with its Holiday Inn and Indigo are taking things to an extreme. They provide a very acceptable and reasonably priced accommodations in pricey cities. I am a big fan of the new trendy compact hotels that are mushrooming in dense urban areas from chains like Accor and IHG. I would recommend this hotel only for a very short stay, 1 or 2 nights, or if you need to stay on the neighbourhood, but you can find better hotel there. Moreover, the rate was insane, 440USD/night! It’s probably because of a special event at the UN, but still it’s an insane rate for this kind of hotel, no matter if it’s in Brooklyn or any other place. Front desk ignore my Platinum status, while breakfast (served in the bar next door) is good. It is just an average 3* hotel, with tiny rooms where you can barely walk around the bed and no place to open your luggage. Indigo Brooklyn has nothing to do with them. I didn't pay too much attention to other reviews: being a IHG Platinum, I stayed in many other Indigo properties, LA, San Diego, NYC LES, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Berlin and more, and all of them have their unique "style" and a certain standard, as well as all the other hotel chains. We stayed there for 2 nights on our way back from our Caribbean holiday.
